The £460m new A417 road scheme, funded by National Highways, will see over 1.5 million cubic metres of earth moved in its construction. This will transform the existing single-lane carriageway, a notorious bottleneck on the A417 between the Brockworth bypass and Cowley roundabout in Gloucestershire, into a new 3.4-mile dual carriageway.
