21 year old OnGrade Machine Control engineer Callum knows his stuff when it comes to 3D Machine Control

Peter Haddock met up with Callum Shepherdson, a machine control support engineer for OnGrade Machine Control, in the sun at Plantworx Construction Exhibition 2023.

Peter: "Callum is one of the most enthusiastic and switched on young people I have met in the sector, and his passion for new technology is just fantastic."

In this interview, Callum talks to Peter about how he got into the industry and was given his break by civil engineering contractor Alun Griffiths before joining Wayne Stevens at OnGrade Machine Control.

Callum explains the different elements people need to consider when using 3D machine control from the likes of Leica Geosystems and how options like rental are now important.

Callum: "3D models are essential if you want to use machine control, and getting them right for the machines is one of the key things we do to support customers. We are even doing drone surveys to help deliver some of the survey data."
