Cat launch new C13D 13 Litre engine at Conexpo Allen Chen explains its key features and benefits

At ConExpo Caterpillar launched the new Cat C13D, 13 litre diesel engine platform, designed to achieve best-in-class power density, torque and fuel efficiency for optimising the performance of heavy duty off-highway applications. Peter Haddock visited the stand and spoke to product specialist Allen Chen taking a walk around the new engine, in the video below.

Some key facts:

• The inline, six-cylinder Cat C13D engine platform will offer eight power ratings from 456 to 690 hp (340 to 515 kW) with up to 2360 lb. ft. (3200 Nm) of peak torque.
• Engine-mounted after treatment and cooling packs will also be available.
• The Cat C13D engine platform enables the use of renewable liquid fuels such as 100% HVO, B100 distilled biodiesel, and even up to B100 standard biodiesel by working with Cat dealers.
