Caterpillar Inc. Next Gen wheeled excavators operators to benefit from advanced 3D Machine Control from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon.

Announced today, 25th Feb, the move follows the successful 2023 rollout of the Leica MC1 3D system on Cat Next Gen tracked excavators.

Talking about the new solution, Martin Verdurmen, President, Machine Control Division Hexagon Geosystems said:

“With Leica Geosystems machine control now easier to set up on Caterpillar’s Next Gen Wheeled Excavators, operators benefit from a smoother start and can get to work faster.”

“The Leica MC1 solution is tailored to enhance performance, reduce downtime, and support sustainable construction practices. Paired with Caterpillar’s tough machines, it gives operators a reliable setup for everyday work on site.”

The new aftermarket system will be available from March 2026, with the sale and support managed through authorised Leica Geosystems channels.
