Connected lighting solutions the latest innovation to transform the plant sector

Connected lighting solutions are the latest innovation to transform the plant sector, as mesh systems allow operators to change lighting conditions from an app or remote control.

In the Get Connected Zone at Plantworx, Peter Haddock spoke to Tyri UK expert Mark Oldfield who explained how its new 'INTELLilight' solution works with visuals also featured in this video.

Mark:" When you are on site, conditions change throughout the day and the seasons, so when it comes to being safe onsite, the most important thing for operators is to see what is around them. This is why our engineering teams in Sweden and the US have developed 'INTELLilight'.

"In practical terms, it means that all of the lighting on the machine is connected to an app or remote control in a mesh system which allows you to group and control the lighting to suit your needs.

“So if it's snowing on one site, raining on another or getting dark, at the touch of a button, the operator can change the brightness and colour temperature from, say, cool yellow to warm yellow for the whole lighting system.

“By doing this, they can operate in the right conditions and ensure the site is always illuminated. This keeps them and operatives working on a project visible and helps reduce operator fatigue levels, making the site a safer workplace.”

Peter added: "Safety is paramount on any job site, and if you can also use lighting technology like this to extend shifts into dusk or stop reflective glair from snow, it helps to increase productivity and efficiency onsite."

If you missed Tyri at Plantworx, don't worry. The team will also be shining a light on its product range at INTERMAT Paris next year, and Peter will be there to also report from the show.
