How can data led insights support operators, enhance training and reduce carbon emissions?
Peter Haddock talks to Dominic Murphy, a Flannery Plant Hire operator and future trainer at the Operator Skills Hub. Dominic has been operating for over six years and has benefitted from ongoing training on different machines and technologies, including Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon and Trimble Civil Construction 3D machine control.
He has also experienced group training on Tenstar Simulation AB simulators at the Operator Skills Hub. Dominic: “I have worked for Flannery for years now and always been comfortable working here. Anything I have ever been unsure about, they have always answered my questions. From a training point of view, there is more than enough help and support given to improve how we deliver onsite. “When it comes to the environment, I think we all have our little part to play in reducing emissions. I am looking forward to helping other operators do this using technology and the information on things like idle times and payload we get from the MachineMax dashboard Flannery uses.” The Operator Skills Hub is a joint venture between Flannery Plant Hire and Balfour Beatty plc.
