“We’re bringing the Leica Geosystems TS20 Total Station onto our hire fleet as fast as we can.”
Steve Rhodes of VP ESS talks to Peter Hadddock on the Leica Geosystems stand at Intergeo following a detailed run through of the product. Steve: “We hire, service and support a lot of Leica robotic total stations and surveying equipment, and I am really impressed with the TS20 solution being offered.
“As a hire business, the GeoCloud Protect solution that goes with the TS20 has come on leaps and bounds. The fact that we can track and lock instruments for security is a big advantage for us.”
“The productivity improvements are tangible.
When you see it spinning, it’s a lot quicker, and everything on it has been upgraded to match the motor speed.
That’s a real, measurable benefit for our customers.”
“Servicing is also a key part of our business, and we’re working with Leica to get our technicians accredited on the new TS20, learning the new calibration methods.
“And the AI features that are built into the instrument, as well as the IP66 rating, are both real game changers” “Having fully integrated communications also means we can now do over-the-air updates and remote pairing to complete work that used to require bringing instruments back to the workshop.”
Steve also tried on the new backpack, adding:
“The backpack is a really nice solution. It uses the same protective inserts as the red case, but lets our customers carry the kit safely and hands free, which is perfect for all sorts of environments.”
“The TS20 will be available to our customers pretty quickly.
And I think the benefits in productivity, servicing, and reliability will be felt across the board.”
