How Does This Smart Battery Power An Entire Construction Site

“Within the power industry, smart battery power generators are becoming real enablers.”

That’s the message from Christopher Autey of HIMOINSA, when he met Peter Haddock on site to learn more about the company’s new EHR battery system range.

They walked around its smallest EHR 45/60 a 45kVA model, which comes with 60kWh of battery capacity, that recently accompanied the launch of its largest model, the EHR 90/130 at bauma.

Christopher: “Battery power generators are key to the energy transition as they allow sites to do things differently and help to manage the overall power demand onsite.

"For example, the EHR 45/60 goes way beyond just powering site cabins. It can support electric cranes, integrate with solar and wind, work in peak shaving mode, and drive down reliance on larger generators.

“Even when completely off grid, you can use its smart control system to lower the size of a diesel genset, reducing run times, fuel, cost, and CO₂ emissions.”

Walking around the unit, Christopher explained more about the key components and user interface.

“We have designed the EHR series to work on both 50Hz and 60Hz for different markets, and similarly, there are flexible sockets and input options.  “We have a simple interface that visually shows the user information about the unit on its screen with push-button controls to change modes and settings.

“We also have remote monitoring via cloud connectivity for smart devices that uses our HICORE system, and we have even introduced a busbar to support large-scale generator connections.” “For me, it’s all about helping users take full advantage of managing power more effectively onsite and showing how battery power generators can play this important role.”
