Hydrogen meets Hyundai at Bauma with the HW155H working prototype - Peter Haddock talks to Peter Sebold Wheeled Excavator product specialist The striking design might not make it past the Hyundai designers who will get their hands on it once field trials have been completed. The Hydrogen is pumped into ‘NOT’ a tank by Hyundai Mobis Hydrogen Fuel Cell - or as we would call it an onboard power plant that creates electric power on demand leaving the drops of water as the only emissions. This cell is tried and tested as it also features in the Hyundai car and truck range. We discover the refuelling point which is super small and yet allows the cells to be refuelled in around 10 minutes from empty, which gives the machine a range of 8 hours and at a speed of up to 40km/h means travel from site to the refuelling site operation can be done very quickly. This is why the wheeled excavator in urban environment applications is the ideal first start for the Hydrogen revolution on job sites Peter explains more in this video interview
