John Deere showcases its SmartGrade Dozers, now with enhanced precision, thanks to a new partnership with Leica Geosystems 3D Machine Control at Bauma.
Peter Haddock caught up with Mark Colvin of John Deere and Troy Dahlin of Leica Geosystems to find out more.
Mark: “SmartGrade is our factory or field-installed integrated 3D grade control system, and this year, we’re proud to announce our partnership with Leica Geosystems to bring this solution to market.”
The integration of Leica 3D machine control into John Deere’s G5 display eliminates the need for additional hardware, streamlining the setup and ensuring full support through John Deere’s warranty and dealer network.
Troy added: “By our engineers working together, John Deere can now factory-install our 3D machine control, positioning cables and sensors whilst the machines are built.
” Mark: “As part of this roll out our John Deere dealer support teams and Dealer Technical Assistance Centre have been fully trained to help customers get the most out of this new partnership.
At Bauma John Deere’s 650p dozer was on stand, and the system will be rolled out to other models. I hope to see these machines in action on my Big American Road Trip in June…. so stay tuned.
