Knights Construction operator Murray talks Cat D7E and MC1 machine control from Leica Geosystems

Peter Haddock interviews experienced operator Murray Stokes of Knights Construction Group, onsite with its Cat D7E electric drive dozer, fitted with the latest MC1 Leica Geosystems machine control. Murray explains how he was reluctant to use machine control, especially as he is so close to retirement.

He talks honestly to Peter about his experience and the support he got from the team at Leica Geosystems. It didn't take him long to get the hang of using the system, and he is now a natural, recognising that the system supports him as an experienced operator.

Murray says: "What I would say to people is just give it a go. I did, and the one thing I have noticed is that using it is that I am less tired at the end of the day, which can only be a good thing.”
