Want a diesel excavator one week and an electric the next?
Kubota in Europe has a retrofit solution that does the job, allowing you to switch between the two with no changes in performance and just seven electric components to change.
To find out more, I caught up with Gordon Smith at bauma, who talked me through its new offering. Gordon: "This is all about making the most of your machine so it can be as productive and profitable as possible.
"We know that more of our hire customers, in particular, are being asked for an electric machine. So with this solution, they can now provide an electric solution, converting it in about 1.5 days.
"If the machine then comes back off hire and there are no other electric hire opportunities at the time, you just covert it back again.
"And for the electric offering, we have also got our own Kubota charger, which can be used as a site power station. With the machine, attachments and charger all fitting onto a towable trailer."
