Dual power and high production, the track mounted S190 screener is a big hit for McCloskey International at Conexpo Peter Haddock spoke to Jarrod Franklin, President of McCloskey dealer Franklin Rock and Recycling in the rain, to find out why the product is so popular.
Dual power refers to the option for customers to use a Caterpillar Stage V diesel engine or three phase electric supply that powers the onboard electric motor. This makes the product very versatile and able to operate in any location.
For example, the Cat diesel engine can be used to move it into place before being hooked up to a three phase supply for use indoors or at sites with access to power.
And for a machine of this size, it's all about uptime, as Jarrad explained: "As a dealer, we both sell and maintain the equipment, so take full advantage of the Cat telemetry system to look after the health of the engine over the products lifecycle. "It's very helpful as it allows us to see in real-time if we need to look at anything as we get notified by the system. This in turn, helps our team deliver the uptime our customers need as this type of screener will invariably be used over multiple shifts."
Jarrod added: "The beauty of the dual power standalone system design also means that a customer can switch between electric and diesel power if maintenance needs to be done on either option. This allows the machine to keep on working."

Peter added: “It's certainly a very impressive machine, and I like the dual power option. So the next stop will be to see the S190 screener in action, which I hope to be able to do in the future.”
