Metso Outotec showcase Caterpillar powered Lokotrack 120 Mobile Jaw Crusher at Conexpo 2023

Peter Haddock caught up with product specialist Kimmo Anttila to find out more about this key product in the Metso Outotec range.

Based around its Nordberg® C120™ crushing unit, the LT120 is a track mounted primary crusher designed and built, especially for quarrying applications. It can act as a stand-alone unit or as part of a multi-stage process, which you will see in this video. 

Because it’s mounted on tracks, users can easily move the LT120 around job sites, making it a versatile product.

Talking about the machine and Metso Outotec’s relationship with the Caterpillar engine and dealer team, Kimmo said: “The LT120 is one of our best selling products as it’s both versatile and capable of crushing really hard stones, and that’s why we have been manufacturing this machine for over 40 years.

"During this time have worked with the team at Caterpillar and our local dealer Avesco, to ensure we can deliver the power and reliability our customers need, especially with our latest Stage V machine designs.

“This particular machine uses a Cat C13, 415 horsepower engine and in our mobile crusher range, we have products working with engines as large as the Cat C18 and as small as the C3.6.

“As a solution provider, we have also recently launched a new service led solution supported by Caterpillar and its dealers. This allows customers to purchase a complete aftermarket service through us with global engine coverage from Cat dealers. It’s a great new option for our customers.”

The LT120 is an impressive machine, and Peter hopes to see it in action on site in the future and visit the team in the factory.
