$6.5m+ given out in Work Ethic Scholarships, can the UK replicate the success of the USA based mikeroweWORKS Foundation?

At Conexpo 2023 on the Caterpillar Inc. stand, Lucas Haddock managed to catch up with Founder mikeroweWORKS to find out how his successful Discovery Channel TV show ‘Dirty Jobs’ was a catalyst for creating the Foundation.

Mike: “Dirty Jobs really opened my eyes to how we need to support people coming into our sector without going through a four year degree. So we set up Mike Rowe Works Foundation to support kids who want to learn a skill that’s in demand. We raise as much money as we can from our supporters and give away a couple of Million bucks a year, which really helps change lives.”

Lucas added: “It was great chatting with Mike and learning more about the Foundation. I think we could have something similar in the UK. That would be a great start for people my age interested in joining the industry but just need some help getting started.”
