Peter Haddock visits RJC Plant Hire, where he met Depot Manager Kai Freeman to talk about how its two JCB 525-60E's have been performing.
The business was one of the first in the UK to take delivery of the new electric telehandler from dealer Watling JCB, using finance from JCB Finance. Powered by a 24kWh battery, the machine has a lift capacity of 2,500kg and a maximum lift height of 6 metres.
These features make it ideal for numerous applications on site, particularly for tasks requiring zero emissions at the point of use. It's what made the machine so appealing to RJC Plant Hire MD Peter Mullett, who was quick to order two units, complete with JCB fast chargers, as soon as the machine was available in 2021.
In this interview, Kai talks about the machines and the positive response from customers who have already taken out long term hirers for the equipment. It really is a great insight from an early adopter regarding the benefits of adding alternative fuel products to a fleet.
Peter: "For me, the important element of every purchase we make ultimately comes down to profitability, which we achieve by providing our customers with reliable equipment. "This is why we have chosen JCB to ride our own road to reducing emissions, which is a journey I expect to accelerate in the years to come. Of course, a big part of achieving profitability is the owning and operating costs. It's also why we regularly upgrade our equipment through Watling JCB to minimise maintenance costs, whilst ensuring our customers benefit from fuel savings and performance enhancements associated with the latest models."
