Peter Haddock caught up with Simon after Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon, experts had demonstrated the product at the event.
He also highlighted some of the practical improvements that will help surveyors using the equipment, adding: “I’m really glad to see the radio handle gone, and bringing AI into the total station is going to be really innovative.
“It’ll be interesting to see how the TS20 integrates with existing software and how much easier it becomes for surveyors to use.
"The automatic detection feature, which identifies the right prism, for example, will really help when teams are busy on site.
“And we’re already talking to senior engineers about where we can get it onto a project as soon as possible.”
