Steelwrist brings SQ tiltrotator technology to Wheel Loaders

Steelwrist brings SQ tiltrotator technology to Wheel Loaders, a new XTR10 tiltrotator model, whilst revealing a large investment in its USA capabilities at CONEXPO-CON/AGG

At pride of place on the stand is the XTR32, its largest tiltrotator in the range, which now includes the all new XTR10, joining the XTR15, XTR20, and XTR23, covering an even broader excavator range.

Peter Haddock spoke to Karl Serneberg to find out about its new products and USA investment:

Karl: “All our tiltrotators are now assembled and final-tested in the United States, following a big investment into new facilities at our site in Newington, Connecticut. And with the XTR10, we now have a product made for the popular 10-ton excavator class."

But Steelwrist’s most interesting move at the show wasn’t on an excavator.

For the first time, the company is bringing its SQ fully hydraulic quick coupler technology to wheel loaders, combining its own expertise with that of sister company Sjørring Maskinfabrik A/S in Denmark, long established in wheel loader attachments.

The value proposition is straightforward:

• Automatic hydraulic connection from inside the cab

• No manual hose handling

• Reduced changeover time — from several minutes to under one

• Improved safety by keeping operators in the seat

• Integrated electrical connectivity for powered attachments

As CTO Markus Nilsson explained: “This is not just about switching buckets faster. It opens the door to powered attachments such as grapples, compactors, snowblowers and electrically controlled tools, all connected through the same automated interface.
