Taking dirt digital and watching material flow in real time with SoilFLO

Peter Haddock finds out how SoilFLO software is helping to manage materials, compliance, and information from expert Nick Tughushi.

Nick initially joined Peter on a Brandwells Construction site in the South West. Here, they walked through how the team is tracking soil and materials digitally from excavation to processing and final disposal.

Nick: “We help construction companies and civil engineers manage, track, and classify their materials digitally. By cutting out paperwork and giving everyone visibility of what’s on site and where it’s going, they can save a huge amount of time and reduce risk.”

“For example, at any one time, Brandwells operate across 30+ locations, and materials don’t just sit in one place. Some are processed, some are reused, and others are sent off site.

“Knowing what you have, where it’s going, and how it’s classified is no longer a ‘nice to have’, it’s fundamental to efficient operations and compliance.

Following the material journey beyond the site gate, Peter and Nick visited the material processing specialist GRS Stone Supplies at Durnford Quarry near Bristol.

Nick: “Both GRS and Brandford use SoilFLO, so it’s really simple to track their digital material records as they move seamlessly through acceptance, weighbridge processing and permitted disposal.

“The result is an end to end flow of information that supports compliance, transparency and better decision making for everyone involved.

Look out for more from my site visits, where I will be talking to Luke of Brandwells and Michelle Down from GRS.
