Two new Sennebogen 870 material handlers for Bristol Ports

Bristol Ports is set to slash material discharge times by up to 50% with not one but two new Sennebogen 870 specialist port material handlers from Molson Group.

The first is already in action onsite, as Peter Haddock discovered when he climbed up to meet with Anthony, one of the Molson engineers who had spent three weeks putting the first machine together.

Peter: "It was a little windy but a brilliant experience to see a machine of this size and to learn about how Molson supports the team at Bristol Ports.

"With more ships coming in carrying bulk material like wood chip it’s all about speed of discharge to increase productivity and reduce the time ships need to spend in the port itself."

Key facts include:

- 24m reach

- 8 tonne grab bucket capacity

- Made in the Sennebogen factory in Bavaria

- Amazing cab with touch screen, joystick control and great visibility

Peter added: "And the Molson team is just around the corner at its branch in Avonmouth Bristol to ensure industry leading machine uptime.

"So with the second 870 arriving very soon, there will be a lot more unloading happening at Bristol Ports this year."
