US civils and earthworks contractors share thoughts on AI and connected workflows with AGTEK

Two leading US civils and earthworks contractors share how AGTEK is evolving with AI and why connected workflows are becoming critical to performance.

On the Hexagon stand at Conexpo, Peter Haddock first caught up with Patrick Clarke of Alessio & Sons and then, after 1 minute in this video, spoke with Eric Jewell of William A Hazel Construction to find out more.

Patrick: “We’re based out of the Chicago area and cover everything from site and building demolition through to mass earthwork, detailed grading and site utilities.”

“We’ve been using Agtek for 20 years now across estimating, grade work, utilities and materials.

“In estimating, it’s invaluable, and we use it constantly to build GPS models for our machines. You enter the data once and then use it however you need, making everything seamless.”

That continuity is delivering real operational gains for the business, as Patrick added: “It creates smooth models, helps machines run more efficiently, and minimises errors in the field.”

Eric then highlighted how ongoing developments from AGTEK, particularly using AI are will helping to shape future projects.

Eric: “We’ve been using AGTEK for 20 years for bidding through to quantity checks and GPS models for machines.

“Our estimating team relies on it to break quantities down exactly how our clients need them.

“Looking ahead, using AI to stitch PDFs together could eliminate a lot of time when building our plans.

“And with new updates bringing drone data together with original bid information and modelling in one place would be huge for our teams.”
