Urban Regen invested in a Leica Geosystems Connected Worksite Solution with MP Survey Equipment

Urban Regen hybridises its demolition spec Volvo Construction Equipment fleet, creating a 'Connected Worksite Solution' with 3D machine control and surveying equipment from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon. This is a HUGE story of how Leica dealer M&P Survey Equipment has worked with the team at Urban Regen and shows how demolition contractors, in particular, can add value for clients.

The video features the UK's first Volvo EC350 in action alongside an EC300, both fitted with 3D machine control. Peter Haddock talks to Christopher Woodhouse of M&P Survey about the journey Urban Regen has taken in this first of a mini-series, supported by Leica Geosystems. The site itself is the UK's first Greyhound Stadium in Gorton near Manchester, which is being turned into housing.

Chris explains how and why Urban Regen is hybridising its fleet, using Leica Geosystems surveying equipment, its Conx software and the installation of 'Leica ready base kits'.

It means the business can transfer cab kits from one machine to another when machine control is needed. So instead of moving machines, it will just move the cab kits, helping it to demolish structures and then complete all of the work on site to the right levels, giving clients 'build ready' plots. It's a major investment that is set to transform the capabilities of Urban Regen, whilst saving fuel and carbon emissions using the latest fuel efficient Volvo equipment from dealer SMT GB.
