Wacker Neuson goes big with the new technology packed EW135 wheeled excavator

Wacker Neuson goes big with the new technology packed EW135 wheeled excavator.

Peter Haddock caught up with Product Manager Ronald Ganzenhuber to walk around the new machine before expert operator Dirk Bömer and Lucas Haddock tested it out.

Ronald: “We have taken over all the features and benefits already known to our customers from the EW100 sister model, but the EW135 has a centre-mounted boom, rather than the swing console arrangement.

“This delivers around double the lifting performance and more options for our customers.”

Key EW135 features include:

- A 100kW, 3.6-litre Perkins Engines Company Limited engine

- Up to 200 litres/min hydraulic flow for attachments

- A spacious new cab with a 10-inch touchscreen display

- Highly customisable joystick and machine settings

- Improved access, maintenance and operator safety features

- Side-view camera and high-visibility access steps

- Incorporates MiC 4.0 attachment integration.

Ronald: ”MiC 4.0 is the digital language the industry is now adopting. It helps the attachment, which has intelligence on it, and the machine, which is intelligent, talk seamlessly to each other.

Once an attachment is on the EW135, it can recognise the attachment and adapt flow and pressure. This makes even more complex attachments from manufacturers like Steelwrist, OilQuick, Rototilt Limited and engcon, plug and play.

“So the EW135 is a real utility machine, fully configurable, making it perfect for operators wanting more power in what is still a compact and very comfortable machine.”
