What are the operator benefits of the newCaterpillar Incnext generation Small Wheel Loader range

Lucas Haddock talks to product demonstrator Simon Hill at the Caterpillar Visitor Centre in Desford, Leicestershire.

Simon also demonstrates the Cat 930 machine, which is powered by a 125kW Cat C7.1 engine and comes with a range of options supporting Ag, Waste and Aggregate applications, available to specify from dealers like Finning UK & Ireland.

Asked by Lucas about the new joystick control, Simon said: "I was a bit sceptical at first as I have driven wheel loaders now for many years with one.

"But once you get used to it and the better ergonomics, it's much less tiring and easier to operate. The joysticks are very responsive, and the faster you go, the more resistance you get.

"The big difference comes when you are doing repetitive tasks like truck loading, as you don't have to do all those revolutions of the wheel, so there is no strain on my shoulder.

"You just sit back with a much better posture and use the joysticks to move around. It's also easy to access the lift and tilt controls, and the new auto features support better operation.

"The designers have even changed the windscreen, adding curved glass, which allows for much better coverage for the windscreen wipers. There are also new glass panels next to your feet on either side of the machine, which with a new 360 camera offer better visibility."
