Flannery invests 12m in Magni Roto telehandler fleet supporting energy infrastructure

Peter Haddock caught up with Mark Tomlinson, Head of Specialist Hire, to find out more.

Mark: “We’ve invested in the Magni Roto fleet, our operators and technicians to support our existing customer base, particularly in the energy sector.

“With the scale of projects linked to net zero, this gives us additional capability to support schemes over the next decade and beyond.

“Every unit is compatible with twin energy conversion. Once connected to three-phase power on site, the machine can operate fully electrically, with no emissions, while performing exactly the same as a conventional unit.

Flannery has also put a strong focus on operator control and safety, as Mark explained:

“All units come with a remote control as standard. Operators can step out of the cab and control the machine when needed, whether that’s for better visibility, working in restricted zones or if it’s better for safer operation.”

“We’ve also fitted human form recognition across the fleet. Because these machines can be used for lifting, often in 360-degree applications, it’s critical that we can support and manage exclusion zones.

For Mark and the team, it’s not just about supporting the energy sector.

Mark: “These machines can take a wide range of attachments, winches, hooks and even a specialist 4D rotating head for TV and film sets.

In addition to our 26, 31 and 35 metre reach models, we’ve introduced 7, 12 and 16-tonne units, including a homologated attachment for lifting coils.

“This is the first of its kind that links straight into the Magni machine, giving operators both audible and visual feedback in the cab, ensuring safe working loads when handling heavy materials.”
