How Powerful is the New Wacker Neuson DPU62 compactor

Packing in a visit to the Wacker Neuson stand at bauma, where Peter Haddock had the chance to get hands-on with their latest DPU 62 reversible vibratory plate.

Expert Thomas Sauermann was also on hand to show him how to use it and talk about key features.

“The DPU 62 is one of our next generation lineup of reversible vibratory plates in the 500 kilogram class that can be powered by diesel or petrol engines. “This model delivers up to 62 kilonewtons of compaction force and comes with some nice operator features.” Key features include:

  • A simple, fast start-up and shut-down process
  • A foldable, stowable handlebar for narrow trenches or confined spaces
  • An Integrated compaction system, which visually confirms compaction levels via LED bar indicators

Thomas added: “We have also redesigned the exciter system, allowing for a smaller engine.

This delivers the same power output, but with greater fuel efficiency. “So with all the changes, we have better manoeuvrability in tight spaces and reduced passes with the LED compaction indicator. This all adds up to lower fuel consumption.”
