Hydrogen projects recognised for special sustainability award at Plantworx 2025

Hydrogen powered equipment projects win Special Achievement Award for Sustainability and Alternative Power at @plantworx 2025

The winners include BAM UK & Ireland, Flannery Plant Hire and Plantforce for their leadership in the Element One Hydrogen trial programme, and L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage for its deployment of the Ultimate Cell Distributors UK Truck Engine V3.0, achieving fuel savings of over 30% in live site conditions.

The Element One project also featured in the Site Sustainability Showcase with ULEMCo Ltd and GeoPura, where Chris Matthew from Plantforce was on hand to discuss the project and what it means for the industry.

Chris: “We have brought our Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe hybrid excavator to the show, which has been onsite working using a 30% Hydrogen to 70% diesel mix to prove how Hydrogen can be successfully used onsite.

“We have also worked together with all of the partners to deliver this project, and it’s proven that industry collaboration is key to moving to a more sustainable future for our sector.”

Additional Element One project members include research and technical organisation BRE and Reynolds Logistics, with Flannery converting a Caterpillar Inc. excavator for its fleet.
