P-grid delivers big savings on electricity costs by Peak Shaving At bauma, Peter Haddock caught up with Tom Leenaerts of e-power®, who introduced me to P-grid, which is a hybrid system combining batteries, inverters, and a generator to cut costs and optimise power usage.
Tom : “By using this combination we can deliver peaks that normally would be covered by a 200-250 kVA generator, and we feed it with just a 40 kVA generator. This reduces fuel consumption by up to 90%, leading to huge cost savings.
“By using lead carbon batteries, P-grid ensures rapid loading/unloading without the complexity of a lithium systems. The UPS inverter with dual AC channels allows simultaneous power input and output, creating a self-sufficient microgrid with solar, grid, or generator integration.
“And when using the generator our smart control system ensures it operates at an optimal load, avoiding wet stacking, AdBlue crystallisation, and excess maintenance costs. You can learn more by visiting the team at Hall A5 Stand 550.
