40 years of growth for family run Fairfax Plant Hire with £60m of recent investment, all built on solid relationships.

Peter Haddock recently caught up with Mark Love, to find out more about the business and another major milestone of 35 years of new JCB machines, financed through JCB Finance.

“As a family business, we’ve always focused on being able to give a premium service. Your outlook on business when it’s family oriented is completely different.

“We’ve been with a lot of the same customers for many years, and we have grown with them. Part of our 40 year journey has been making sure we invest in the right equipment, and in the last three years, we have spent over £60m on kit alone.

“Recently, we have expanded our reach from Leicester to Newcastle Upon Tyne and across to Liverpool, while still supporting national projects for key customers. And our new depot in Hull city centre is the latest step in that expansion.”

With a large JCB telehandler fleet and an expanding range of excavators, Mark also explained how JCB Finance has supported the business to finance other purchases.

Mark: “With JCB Finance, when you decide to buy something, from the start to the completion of the deal, it doesn’t take very long. You can get the machines in and get them straight out on hire, and that’s critical for us.”

“We also need to be very flexible to respond to our customer needs, so swapping out machines and other equipment is an important part of how we work with Amy Baxter and the team at JCB Finance.”
