AMPS Industry education day at Volvo Penta

After hosting the AMPS - the Association of Manufacturers Power Systems industry day event at its UK Head Office, Peter Haddock caught up with Riccardo Sardelli of Volvo Penta, who is also responsible for leading the association's marketing team.

Riccardo: “Today was super important for us. It’s a great opportunity to get lots of different businesses together, which are all members, and to talk about some really poignant topics which are going to be framed out for the rest of the year.”

“One of the key discussions centred around data centres with funders and key stakeholders.

“To have them actually present and explain what they’re doing and why, and to have part of the industry with us on that, it gives us a better concept of how we approach these organisations and how we engage them.

“We also got the chance to discuss workforce development and to understand that if we are to attract new talent, we need to do things differently.

“For example, 18 year old Lucas haddock highlighted the need to talk openly about salaries and career progression.

“You can travel the world in this industry. It’s never really boring because we get to do lots and lots of different things.”
