Ford Civil Engineering doubles business using AGTEK to tender its earthworks projects

'Using AGTEK to tender our earthworks projects has doubled the size of the business in the last seven years to £36m'

That's the message from Nick Hughes, Director of Dorset-based Ford Civil Engineering, when Peter Haddock spoke to him recently at the UK's first AGTEK community user group held at the Leica Geosystems' The School'.

Nick: "Everyone knows that there are key risks involved in tendering earthworks projects, and this is why before we started using AGTEK, we spent a huge amount of time and resources ensuring we got our calculations right on things like muck away in particular.

It has been seven years since we adopted AGTEK, which has a huge user base in the US, and the business has really benefitted. Our growth speaks for itself, but this hasn't meant we had to put more resources into our team, as AGTEK does so much of the work for us.

"It even helps us with making models for our Leica Geosystems 3D machine control enabled fleet, which is a recent additional investment we have made to improve safety and efficiency.

"The team is always updating the technology to introduce things like 3D model drive-throughs that I can show my clients at the tender stage, which is really helping us win and deliver work.

"Coming to the first UK user group, I had a list of ideas, which have all been covered. The roadmap also looks very exciting, and I am really impressed with the new AI-driven functionality."
