Genius Bubbling Up is what you get with early project engagement

Adam Hick of Conquip explains the importance of early engagement in this interview at the Infrastructure HUB at UK Construction Week with Peter Haddock.

It followed a panel discussion that included Georgia Thompson from Costain, Lauren Blakely from Lendlease, and Paul Shorter from Conquip, highlighting great early engagement success examples.

Adam: 'It really all starts at the tender phase, where you can use 3D models and digital twins to explore the buildability of a project. This, in-turn, adds meaningful value to the build program as you have time to work out the best methods to deliver a project.

"And it not only helps contractors win tenders, but it can also support a 3D-enabled project planning complete with logistics and phasing before equipment even gets onsite.

"And it's at this early phase where we see a lot of the 'Genius Bubbling Up' where experts can come together with new ideas, innovations and shared experiences.

"This then supports wider discussions which often lead to new approaches to delivering a project with positive knock-on impacts like carbon and cost reduction."

Peter added: "Learning about some of those examples in the panel discussion and seeing how impactful early engagement can be is really encouraging. And crucially, this is key to delivering a more sustainable sector."
