Glasgow street test for AIPowered Surveying

Peter Haddock met with Gary Kelly of Leica Geosystems and its dealer VP ESS to see the Leica Geosystems TS20 Total Station and AP20 AutoPoleequipment combination in a live environment.

Gary: “The TS20 and AP20 are designed to work together, and the setup is really simple. You can be paired up, tracked and ready to go in a few minutes. And with the beep you hear, you know the tilt function has kicked in.

“The combination also benefits from the AI-Follow function, allowing the TS20 to follow the AP20 prism even if the line of sight is interrupted.

“This functionality is great for surveyors and engineers as it means you can get straight to work without needing to constantly check or re-adjust.

“The interface is also familiar from the previous TS16, so the training curve is very small. You can pick it up and get straight to work.

“We don’t need to worry about the weather or dust either, as the IP66 rating means it just keeps going.”

“Users can also benefit from our built-in GeoCloud Protect theft system to locate and isolate a TS20 remotely.
