Hitachi launches Hydrogen Electric and its Landcros One excavators at Bauma

Hitachi showcases its revolutionary Landcros One excavator also bringing Hydrogen and Electric models to bauma I caught up with Timo from KTEG on the Hitachi stand to talk through its electric and hydrogen offerings Timo.

“For our ZE150W 15-tonne electric wheel loader, instead of simply swapping the diesel engine for batteries, we have designed a totally new machine with electric axles and components powered directly from the battery. The result is a 40% increase in efficiency. With our larger ZE225 25-tonne crawler excavator we have a number of options with battery charging but also the ability to power directly with a cable for continuous work where the infrastructure is available.

Our Hydrogen-Powered Hitachi ZX300 is a 30-tonne class machine with a 56kg hydrogen tank, delivering around six hours of operation. It uses the Deutz hydrogen combustion engine and can be refuelled as fast as diesel model.
