Operating the DXR145 remote control demolition robot

Ian Digger, product specialist for Husqvarna, helps Peter Haddock operate the DXR145 remote control demolition robot at the Molson Group Open Day.

The DXR145 is just one of a range of robots that Husqvarna has developed to be used safely on dangerous job sites. They might be small, but they certainly have the electric driven power equivalent to much larger excavators up to 8 tonne in size.

In this case, the DXR145 was simply plugged into a power source, and the grab attachment was used to move items out of a demonstration rig.

Its 360° rotating arm and long reach made this easier. When it comes to transporting it to a site, unlike other machines, instead of being towed, it's small enough to fit into a van.

And when it gets onsite, it can be moved in and out of an elevator or even climb stairs. When it gets to the demolition area, its low weight and ground pressure mean it can be used safely in areas with limited or restricted floor loads.

In addition to the DXR145, four other models are in the range. This includes the DXR275, which boasts a higher hitting force, the DXR 305 with its long fixed arm and the DXR315 with its 5.5m telescopic arm.

The machines can also be matched with various attachments, from grapples to hammers and sheers to buckets.
