Operator turned model maker - how Gaz Evans turned a hobby into an amazing business. 

Peter Haddock spoke to the brilliant model maker himself and got to see his incredible display at the recent Molson Group Open Day. 

Gaz also shared his journey from plant operator to model maker following an early retirement from the cab due to health issues. 

Gaz: "I have spent my whole career in the plant sector, learning how to be an operator when I was very young. Later in life, I started making models as a hobby and following a heart attack over 10 years ago, I turned my love for models into a business and have never looked back."

"To make the models as authentic as possible, I talk directly to manufacturers to get the specifications of the actual equipment. This enables me to make the right castings and key components for each individual machine or attachment."

Peter added: “His display at the Molson Group Open Day was amazing and brought to life many of the different machines they sell from brands including Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V., Rokbak SENNEBOGEN HD Hyundai Construction Equipment. 

“Not to mention the customers whose models have been made for, like The Sirius Group and Plantforce.”
