Sustainability isnt about building less its about building smarter

That's the message from Eva Carranza of Hexagon AB when Peter Haddock met her at Bauma for an update on its Re-volution approach, which is leveraging Hexagon sensors, software and autonomous solutions to run profit-driven, sustainable projects.

Eva: "Sustainability is really about the people and the planet. Safety is the number one priority for people, and for the planet, it's about measurable efficiency. So this relates to reducing emissions, safeguarding biodiversity, and improving our interaction with the environment during construction."

"And to do this, we can now use real world technologies like 3D Machine Control from @leicageosystemsag, @xwatch_safety 3D collision avoidance and @agtekdirtsimple earthworks software solutions to measure, learn and make an impact.

"For example, we are working with customers to help them use sensor-based monitoring to track how construction affects ecosystems.

"In addition, we are helping them to combine satellite, radar, and LiDAR information to map nature corridors and underground conditions.

"Using existing technology in new ways allows us to map what's there before construction begins and continuously monitor the environmental impact as the project progresses."

"This helps to turn biodiversity into a trackable metric that evolves alongside construction and development projects, making everything in between work seamlessly together."
