Tru7 Group launch Tru Rail division at Rail Live

Peter Haddock talked to Richard Rowell, who has recently been appointed Head of Tru Plant, to learn more.

They also discuss the wider group's approach to tackling the skills shortage and upskilling its team to support the new division.

Richard: “With the launch of Tru Rail we are addressing a gap in the market we felt we could fill with our experience in plant and also a new approach to training, introducing both PTS training and GPS training for our staff. 

We also recognised that we have a huge range of equipment in our fleet that we can adapt for the rail industry using height and slew safety solutions from Xwatch Safety Solutions through the relationship we have with dealer Road Rail Plant Ltd.

“It’s all part of our investment strategy, which is also seeing the introduction of a lot of new JCB excavators into the fleet, some of which are factory-fitted with Leica Geosystems machine control.
