Remotely sense what your machines are doing onsite

How do you remotely sense what your machines are doing onsite in real-time?

It’s a question that has been a challenge until now, especially for major contractors and plant hirers using mixed fleets and different types of equipment, from diggers to tractors and dozers to wheel loaders.

Now, the team at PLINX has come up with a new easy to fit AI and telemetry supported sensor called MachineSense that does the work for you.

Having tested it with L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage, its founder, Tommy Williams, exclusively spoke to Peter Haddock at its Birmingham depot.

Tommy: “We have been working on MachineSense for some time now, trialling it on real-world job sites, and now we are rolling it out to the whole industry, which is very exciting.

“The great thing about the technology is that it works with lots of different machine types, so for the first time, anyone with access to the dashboard from equipment owners, plant and site managers, can understand what is happening onsite.

“And because it’s in real-time, you can make timely decisions to improve performance and reduce carbon while having the opportunity to keep people safer onsite.

Here are some of the key features we highlight in this video:

- Visible operator interface mounted where they can see it. Green for go -   Blue for idling - Amber to reduce speeding - Red to stop for avoidance zones.

- East to fit: Simple to fit to machines from small to large items.

- Delivers real-time data-driven insights into machine performance and site progress.

- Supports uptime by identifying potential issues before they escalate, preventing costly delays.

- Allows for video clip capture if a key event occurs, providing visual proof and supporting accurate data analysis.

- Visible in a simple to use Plinx platform dashboard with an API that can be used to share information into existing customer portals or customisable Power BI solutions.
