“Our mission goes beyond just servicing assets. We focus on matching the right equipment to the job, consulting with clients to ensure assets are fit for purpose.” 

That’s what Greg Mulhearn, MD of engineering and asset management specialist, United Plant Services, spoke to me about when I visited its Cannock HQ and service centre.

A big part of the business is its compliance services division. It has dedicated engineers who do brake testing, safety inspections and other checks on customer sites throughout the country.

Greg: “Safety is paramount for the sectors we work in, like quarrying and waste. 

“A key part of support is being onsite with customers, optimising their sites, fleet performance and advising on everything from GET to buckets. 

“This equipment journey is also supported by each asset having its own profit and loss account. 

“Taking this approach enables clear decision making throughout an asset’s lifetime, which includes performance benchmarking. 

“Ultimately, we help customers get the best value and efficiency from their fleet.”
