Hydrogen in Action at bauma as Hyundai Construction Equipment takes Zero-Emission excavation to the Next Level. Three years ago, Peter Haddock visited its stand at bauma to see a static machine, but this year was different. It unveiled a 15 tonne hydrogen fuel cell wheeled excavator, fully functional and site ready.
“We are five weeks ahead on what is a very challenging job, thanks to using Leica Geosystems 3D machine control with our Liebherr Dozer and SMP Parts tiltrotator enabled Hyundai excavator." Says KHC Limited Groundworks site manager, Darryl Simmons.
In 2022 the word Hydrogen was everywhere, with key prototype machines launched at Bauma from Liebherr and Hyundai, quickly followed by a special Hydrogen press event from JCB revealing and operating its Hydrogen machines and mobile refuelling solution.
