British Steel wins special award for innovation at Plantworx 2023

Peter Haddock spoke to Dominic Hill, Technical Manager, to learn more and understand how British Steel supports manufacturers with specialist product innovations.

Dominic: “We are developing new products and techniques that help to make the equipment our OEM customers make from our steel look stunning. This, in turn, helps them to sell products and customers maintain good residual values.

“High-quality steel can also support sustainability and product rebuilds, as seen in the quarry sector. Our latest innovation is a new laser surface inspection system that uses clever software to recognise and filter out minute pieces of dust. This helps you to detect the surface, ensuring it is the best quality possible.”

With a huge investment in technology and a great apprenticeship scheme that we have reported on in the past, it is no wonder that the British Steel team has been recognised for a special award.
