Ireland goes green with its first 20 tonne Liugong 922FE excavator

Operator Trevor Quinn of COD Plant and Civil Engineering gives the Liugong 922FE excavator the double thumbs up.

Peter Haddock went to see Trevor onsite at a new School project with main contractor, BAM, on the outskirts of Dublin, where he was supporting key groundwork activities.

Talking about his experience driving his first electric machine after over 20 years in the seat, working as far afield as Australia, Trevor said:

“It's super quiet, and it's lovely. It's actually a very comfortable machine to drives, its like being in a Mercedes, and its capabilities are unreal.

“The speed of it is fantastic, and it has pure raw power, it's actually one of my favourite machines.”

Talking about the change from diesel to electric charging, Trevor added, “I just plug it in on my break, and when I have finished my shift and it’s got a full battery the next day.

“I also don't get any diesel on my hands anymore.”
