Safely looking underground with Leica Geosystems Personal Alerts

Peter Haddock catches up with Shane Gwilt, Leica Geosystems surveying product specialist, at the recent National Highways Net Zero and Innovation event.

In this interview, Peter and Shane talk about the new Leica Geosystems Stream C ground penetrating radar (GPR) and the wearable 'Personal Alert' device that links to its tablet inside the cab. It alerts the wearer through vibrations and an audible alarm when they get too close to an active machine, fitted with Leica Geosystems 3D Machine Control.

The operator is also warned inside the cab through the existing tablet, making for a safer environment without more cab clutter.
