Blackwell Earthmoving recruitment campaign to achieve a 25 female workforce

Blackwell Earthmoving Limited launches '25 in 25' recruitment campaign to achieve a 25% female workforce by the end of 2025, doubling the number currently employed.

Working on some of the UK's largest projects, including HS2, Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station, and the Lower Thames Crossing, the team is looking to fill varied roles.

These include engineers, quality surveyors, project managers, and plant operators at all levels, with training to support women returning to work and/or career switching.

Talking about the campaign, Blackwell Earthmoving MD Niall Fraser said: "As part of Hargreaves Services plc, we recognise the challenges the industry faces when it comes to the skills shortage, which is a barrier to growth across the entire built environment sector.

"At 14%, our gender balance is already good, but I believe it can be so much better. We're keen to build on this foundation and inspire women to consider opportunities in earthworks.

"Critical to this will be the provision of the necessary training, support, work arrangements, and environment that I hope will allow more women to join us."

Speaking about her experience as a Plant Operator, Stephanie Oliver added: "As a mother of young children, I didn't really know about career opportunities in construction.

"Since I joined Blackwell over two years ago, I haven't looked back, and I'm now fully qualified to drive a 60-tonne dump truck. I would encourage anyone considering a career change to apply."

Recognising the challenges we face in recruiting to our industry is really important, and this is why I have posted this news from the team.

They have career opportunities for both men and women from all backgrounds and skill levels. So if you are looking to join the Blackwell Earthmoving team, you can contact careers@blackwellearth.co.uk
